NetX XBus Overview
The NetX™ XBus wired system includes our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation thermostats and several different network controllers/schedulers.
These products, along with the NetX remote sensors, have been supported for more than 25 years.
The NetX Command Center software for Windows and the NetX-Web Cloud Service (3rd party) are both still available for your use.
NT-IPXB End of Life

The current Network Controller/Scheduler, NT-IPXB, is reaching its end of life. The NT-IPXB is the current replacement for previously available units listed below.
- XC-SSA16/CLK
- XC-SSA32/CLK
- XC-SSA2/CLK
- NT-SSA32/CLK
Components used in the NT-IPXB are no longer available. Once these units are sold no additional units can be manufactured.
What does this mean for current NetX XBus system users?
Software: We are continuing our NetX-Web service and PC Software.
Hardware: The 4th generation X-Series thermostats are in production, but we have a limited inventory of the NT-IPXB. We recommend purchasing one or more replacement NT-IPXB controllers as spares.
Continued Availability of Thermostats

For thermostats, NetX has introduced the 4th Generation X5N-NX color touch screen thermostat. This is a direct replacement for the following thermostats on your Wired XBus system. It is the replacement for the following older units:
- First Generation: SST-1, MST-1, HPT-1, HPT-2
- Second Generation: GE22-NX, HP32-NX
- Third Generation: US32-NX
The original thermostats can be upgraded to X5N-NX thermostats without even touching a single wire on the existing backplate. Simply remove the old faceplate, install the new color touch screen, and set the address.
Replacement Platforms
Since the original introduction of XBus (1995) and StrongMesh (2008) technologies launched, we have developed new platforms that far exceed the performance of our XBus and StrongMesh ecosystems. Technologies improve and we continue to be innovators. Our new X-Series Thermostats with Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity offers the performance of easy wireless and wired connectivity to the NetX Platform. These new thermostats rewrite what it means to be an intelligent commercial-grade thermostat offering truly groundbreaking feature sets and performance in a single package.
